Particularly, access to water in the city is defined by the question - who deserves water?
This question is also mired in further questions of right to the city, governance and legality. Volunteer organisation groups in Mumbai like the Pani Haq Samiti have worked tirelessly over the years to make sure that each citizen in Mumbai receives water as a basic right.
This exhibit draws from the archives of the Pani Haq Samiti, while intertwining individual stories of human resilience in the face of water paucity, advocacy and agitations for water both national and international. The exhibit takes the form of a calendar, emphasizing that the struggle for access and right has never been a linear timeline, but a continuous cycle of struggles and successes that has led us to where we are.
